Clifford Bridges and Lance Jarrard (at right in the shadows). Clifford Bridges - Lance Jarrard and rock_helper 9/22/08 Clifford Bridges by new rock work 2/22/08  Donald Friddle, Bill Calvert & Mike Adams. Bill Calvert volunteered to build our Blacksmith Shop. He brought Mike Adams, an employee with him and a truck load of tools. I had to show this one of Donald really on the run with lumber for them to cut.. Nick Mings, Joyce Friddle, Lee Lane & Judith Lamb. We made the mistake of asking what we could do and Gene Davis set up the saw for us. We cut the siding boards until I thought my arms would fall off...! Lee got HIGH on sawdust and was absolutely wild... she loved that saw! Nick kept trying to keep her from trimming her nails with it and we all managed to come out with all our fingers... Business was a little slow out at Larry's tent so he borrowed my gloves and helped us cut boards. Larry Ken Connelley raising funds for the Coal Miners Memorial while others work in the back ground. The building was coming along real fast with all the volunteers working hard. David Fitzjurl  The guys were taking a lunch break. As you can see the walls were going up on the Coal Miners Memorial... L to R: Nick Mings, Lyndell Foster, John O'Brien, Tom Lamb (Judi's husband) and Mike Adams. Back by the memorial: Lee Lane and Sam. This shows the guys building the cupola. On top: David Fitzjurl with Bill Calvert inside. This was on Sunday just before they started putting the roof on. They got half of the roof done and I was so tired I forgot to get a picture of it. First Metal Sheet on Roof - David Fitzjurls and Boydie on the roof. Workers on the ground: Mike Adams, Gene Davis, Donald Friddle and Bill Calvert.  Tom Lamb putting up plywood on outside walls. This was taken when we first got there this morning. The end is now closed up, the other window is in and the doors were finished. They will be dressed up with rough lumber of some sort later. They got a lot of the inside walls up and a little more done on the cupola. This is the back view of the roof. Larry Connelley and Donald Friddle were cutting boards for the crew. Taken late Sun. Evening showing our Blacksmith Shop closed in and locked up. Coal Miners Memorial board member Larry Connelley and one of our many volunteers Gene Davis. Joyce Friddle talking with some of the workers. Lunch break, Coal Miners Memorial. L to R: John O'Brien, Lance Jarrard, David Fitzjurls (sp?), Gene Davis and Bill Calvert. Back by tent: Larry Connelley and ? My camera died but Lyndell took a bunch of photos that we will share later. After lunch they put up the rafters and tomorrow will finish the roof prep and then put on the metal. They were tired guys by the end of the day ! And a few old women were a little worn out too... This is Lyndell Foster and Judi Mikles Lamb. They were taking a break from the construction.. The work is going great at the Coal Miners Memorial.
